The 2002 Gibson Custom Shop Gary Rossington Les Paul is more than a tribute to a legendary guitar—it is a limited-edition Artist Signature model aged personally by Tom Murphy. One of just 250 made, it recreates “Bernice,” the 1959 Les Paul played by Lynyrd Skynyrd guitarist Gary Rossington. As one of the early Murphy-aged replicas of a celebrated Les Paul, it has become one of the most sought-after Gibson Custom Shop runs.

Murphy’s aging brings the faded sunburst, figured maple top, and carefully worn details together with the convincing character of a guitar played for decades. The substantial ’59-style neck feels secure without being cumbersome, while its warm, woody voice, open response, and long sustain make it especially rewarding for blues and rock. This is an Artist Signature Les Paul whose craftsmanship and playing experience are equally compelling.
