The Gibson Custom Shop Historic Reissue Pre-War SJ-200 Rosewood is a faithful recreation of Gibson’s late-1930s Super Jumbo design, hand-built at the Gibson Acoustic Custom Shop in Bozeman, Montana. Its thermally aged Adirondack red spruce top, hot hide-glue bracing, rosewood back and sides, ebony fingerboard, and ebony bridge are selected to deliver the powerful projection, dynamic range, and mature tonal character expected from a premium pre-war-inspired acoustic.
The SJ-200’s Super Jumbo body produces a broad, authoritative voice with strong low-end support, clear treble response, and the headroom required for confident strumming, flatpicking, and vocal accompaniment. Period-correct appointments—including bound fingerboard, vintage-style script Gibson headstock inlay, and distinctive pickguard—complete an instrument that carries both historical elegance and professional musical capability. An exceptional choice for discerning acoustic players seeking the scale, presence, and craftsmanship of Gibson’s most celebrated jumbo model.
