Collector’s Condition !!

More than 30 years after it was made, this 1993 Fender Custom Shop 1954 Stratocaster remains in remarkably fresh, collector’s-condition shape. Its NOS appearance has been exceptionally well preserved—a rare quality in a Custom Shop guitar of this age and a compelling reason to take a closer look.

The lightweight flamed ash body is finished in classic 2-Tone Sunburst, allowing its striking grain to take center stage. It is paired with a one-piece flamed maple neck and fingerboard, carved to a substantial ’54 large V profile. Together, the beautifully figured woods and period-inspired neck shape give this guitar a distinctive feel and presence that go well beyond its appearance.

Three original Custom Shop ’54 Strat pickups deliver the clear, bell-like response associated with an early Stratocaster. Each pickup position has its own appeal, from bright, articulate rhythm tones to expressive lead sounds that respond to the player’s touch. Among the examples we have encountered, this one stands out for its wood selection, exceptional preservation, and inspiring sound. It is a rare opportunity for players and collectors seeking an early Fender Custom Shop guitar that still feels remarkably close to new.
